Public relations, journalism, and publishing positions require very good writers, and as a student with published works I feel that my writing skills and fresh perspective may be of use in the business world. I have two feature articles published by the University of Illinois at Chicago’s Journal for Pre-Health Affiliated Students and an interview published in the Journal of Purdue Undergraduate Research Volume 2. I have recently completed an internship as the Journal Coordinator for the Journal of Purdue Undergraduate Research at Purdue University and currently am a social media and marketing intern at The Strathmore Company. As a social person, and figure skater for over 17 years, I help to promote the skating events around the Oakton Ice Arena, and believe that my promotional skills are marketable in professional writing and business. I not only have articles published but a follow up Feature Story (To Chicago’s Best of Chicago 2010) being used as a park district testimonial. In my free time I enjoy writing poetry (having been published), figure skating, learning about nutrition, cooking and engaging in business. I have a food blog, which is my newest project combining my love of writing with my love of food. I love to cook and was a nutrition major before finding a broader passion in writing.
